About
I Am Michele
Hi there!
an electronics engineer hailing from Naples but living in Paris. My journey into the captivating world of photography began with a gift from my grandparents - a reflex camera - when I was just twelve years old. Never thought this gift would ignite a passion within me and open the door to a realm of artistic expression.
My fascination with the beauty of nature, animals, and the changing seasons became the inspiration for my photographic endeavors. As life progressed, I found myself pursuing a chemistry course at the University, which unexpectedly led to a transformative moment. During my studies, I observed how colors reacted to different light intensities and humidity, especially evident in the black and white photography. The subtle transformations of white into a gentle yellow and black into a deep violet fascinated me to no end.
From this moment of curiosity and wonder, the "Korimi" style was born - my humble attempt to redefine monochrome photography. With the invaluable assistance of my painter sister, Raffaella, I embarked on a journey to discover the primary colors needed to recreate the essence of these new photos. Through delicate layering and experimentation, I humbly achieved mesmerizing results that I am honored to exhibit.
One of my most cherished creations, the "Korimi red," draws inspiration from the esteemed Malian photographer, Seydou Keïta. His work, provided a profound influence that I carry with deep reverence.
With "Korimi," I invite you to witness the harmonious interplay of shadows and light, where emotions and memories find expression in captivating monochrome hues. Photography for me is more than just a passion; it's an ever-evolving journey of exploration and learning.
